    Additional Cost Types

This feature allows you to define additional cost types. The additional cost types represent customized cost components that the calculation can manage.

    To open the page:

    1. In Search type Additional Cost Types, then click on the related link.

There are 2 types of additional costs, conceptually different:

    1. Additional costs “of which”, characterized by the field "Additional cost" = False. They identify customized cost components that are a “of which” of the standard components (cost of materials, capacity, subcontract).

Examples of use are: within the cost of materials, isolate the cost of packaging from that of actual raw materials. Within the cost of capacity, separate the machine cost from the man cost.

    1. Actual additional costs, characterized by the field "Additional cost" = True. They identify costs to add to standard components.

This setup must be set only if you want to manage customized calculation components. It is possible to associate ancillary costs with items, for example: duties, transport costs, customs charges. The standard Business Central feature uses the 'item charges' function to assign these costs. In this way the costs are included in the material cost. With the FCC Module it is possible to post these costs on a specific account or a transitory one and associate them later with the items 'by competence'. This provides greater management flexibility, and it is also possible to associate additional costs that are not related to the purchase transitions (internal machining, subcontracting).
